If you like having your hair blown back by jagged guitar riffs, sipping chamomile to the strums of a sweet acoustic ballad, or trying to harmonize with a falsetto that sounds like a howling wolf, My Morning Jacket’s Dec. 29-31 shows at Broomfield’s FirstBank Center should be a lock for your New Year’s Eve plans.
AEG Presents, the concert’s promoter, has shared another big reason to spend that “One Big Holiday” with the band: It’ll be My Morning Jacket’s last concert for at least a year.
The release, which was sent out by the promoter Monday morning, didn’t offer details about why the band is taking the year off. A representative from ATO Records, the band’s label, confirmed the news but declined to provide additional information.
The band will play Dec. 29 with Prince’s band, the Revolution; Dec. 30 with Tune Yards; and Dec. 31 with Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe. Soul outfit Charles Bradley and His Extraordinaires was slated to play the band’s Dec. 31 show before Bradley died in September.
Tickets to the show are on sale now via altitudetickets.com, and range in price from $49.95 for a single-day GA ticket to $165 for a three-day GA pass.
